The best digital nomad visa program in the EU
Digital nomads are in constant search of the best place to stay. Most of them go to Thailand, Bali, Colombia, UAE, etc. Many dream of staying in the EU, where Portugal was probably the best choice. But all this was until now. As of the end of June 2025, Bulgaria is also offering a digital nomad visa program. And we have to say, the new legislation is offering the best conditions for digital nomads in the EU. No other EU digital nomad program comes even close to the Bulgarian one.

- Digital nomads, working for a non-EU company and providing IT services;
- IT specialists who are shareholders or directors in a non-EU company;
- Freelance digital nomads, who provide remote IT services.

The new digital nomad visa is definitely the big news in the Bulgarian Foreigners Law in 2025. It opens the door for many non-EU IT specialists, who will find a safe place to stay in the EU. On top of that, the Bulgarian Schengen membership also means visa-free travel to all other Schengen members states.
